In no regions of the developing world are women and men equal in legal social and economic rights significant variations with south asia and middle east not doing very well // latin. America and east asia doing well major improvements in access to primary education have improved the quality in women literacy rate senior government positions. Gender disparities have tended to decline over time, but remain largest in low- income countries except in political participation. Primary school girl/boys together secondary school more progress 10 boys for 4 girls.
