Poli231 dirty hands and political realism lecture notes. The true message of the play is completely apolitical to politics. Usually founded in reasons, as they conflict. Morality, part of practical conflict: reasons for action, apply to human activity, contrasted to theoretical (skeptical) reason. Political morality is practical reason: political reason a subset of moral reason, it is defined by state and social power, political reason does not trump moral reason. As long as there is no traffic, you may turn right : default rule in the absence of extra rules (norms), unified mainstream cannot escape morality, what justifies actions. Machiavelli: political action may trump moral consideration. Plato: justice is the vantage of the stronger, rulers = propaganda: machiavelli differs in this, there is morality and goodness, governance is not always in that. Ethics of responsibility and ethics of ultimate ends.
