Real Life Significance of IQ Tests

iii. Perhaps more related to talents or strengths and weaknesses
iv. Not independent from one another

The ability to perceive, understand, manage and use emotions
Talent vs Grit
Ability to stick to long term goals
Nature vs Nurture
Behavioural genetics
Environment
Phenotype - observable traits
Genotype = genetic makeup
Twins - identical and fraternal
Identical - more similar intelligence
Fraternal - more differences
Nature side of debate
Heredity - estimate of the variance in population that is due to genetics
Heritability doesn't apply to one single person
Not fixed - depends on time and population
Cannot explain differences between groups
Does not indicate that a trait cannot be modified
In fact, if we manipulate the environment, we could change the heritability of a certain
trait
