Human subjects language report subjective experiences they have human brains. Nonhuman subjects the underlying mechanisms of behavior are similar across species and are easier to study in nonhuman subjects. We are interested in animals for their own sake. Efferent going away (exit, escape) somatic interacts with external environment: afferent nerves carry sensory signals from eyes, ears, skin, etc to cns (to the brain, efferent nerves carry motor signals from cns to skeletal muscles. Autonomic regulates body"s internal environment: afferent nerves carry sensory signals from internal organs to cns (liver, kidneys , efferent nerves carry motor signals from cns to internal organs. Combined art and science and became an anatomical illustrator.
