PSYC 212 Lecture Notes - Lecture 18: Monochromacy, Specular Reflection, Emission Spectrum
Document Summary
All light sources give off the same spectrum of light. Sunlight has equal spectrum, for a tungsten light bulb it has different emission spectrum, florescent light have different bands and helium-neon laser will have an extremely narrow band. The fact that tungsten light emits much less blue light than sunlight means that its difficult to perceive blue colors under tungsten illumination (color perception is interaction of light source with material) Mirror (has no color) and air has no reflection. Imagine you are a monochromat and have only the s-cones. Imagine you are a monochromat and have only the l-cones.
