For most people it will go away within 2 years. Not one virus, over 150 types divided into high risk (those that cause cancer) and low risk. Infections cause 18% of cancaer hpv 5. 2% worldwide. 6 and 11 are harmless 16 and 18 are potentially cancerous. 100% related to cervical cancer but also penile anal vulvar vaginal etc. Oral cancer as well (perhaps as much as tobacco) 25 hpv strains relate to 5% of cancers. 2016: cervical is highest proportion of hpv associated cancers but oral cancers are the second most (in males) up not getting vaccines but now they know men need it too. Difference between f and m: debate who is hpv a problem for? boys end. Females still have higher hpv related cancers and death but it"s changing. Not only associated with cancer but other health problems rrp, Oral and anal cancers are on the rise.
