Excavated the french side (although he wasn"t supposed to) throughout the night and found a lot of objects: rassam made a sensational and exceptional discovery: the private library of king. Assurbanipal (668-627), contains some 25 000 tablets and tablet fragments. A lot of information concerning religions of ancient near east comes from this library, where all the classics were kept: rassam made a big mistake: he could not read cuneiform. The tablets were placed in baskets- he mixed them all up. Several tablets were translated, but there are still plenty more to be deciphered. Some of the objects that were discovered: sources can be divided into 5 different categories/types, source 1- cylinder-seal: very few examples in egypt, but tons of these around in. If someone destroys this building, let them be cursed by x or y gods : king nabonidus: archaeologist king , very interested in the history of his country.
