Religious education: education about religion(s) and not within religion. The mandate from the government is intended to not be indoctrination. They are bringing in educators and these are seen as the people who should impart the curriculum. Giving students the opportunity to learn about these traditions the way they are represented. Indoctrination: you are mastering a tradition, learning about it, learning how to live and function within it. This would not be neutral: it would be exclusive. Possibly no because religion is not the cause of terrorism because it is not the primary factor. Religion personalised the con ict: con ict becomes connected to deeply held beliefs. Using us vs them giving the means to demonise the opposition. Con ict becomes religionized, religion can be used to take con ict to new levels. It can be used in terms of justi cation especially when brought into the cosmic warfare aspect.
