Messages heard around the world are more top down which is changing because of social media. How members behave and feel about their membership in that group. Emotional sentimental portion embedded in symbols to have sense of belonging to particular sense of belonging to ethno group: suppose to enhance social completion. Attempt at trying to include a more inclusive image of canadian representation of nationalism. Cultural symbols related to ancestry and some do not that are more prominent (mainstream) When national identity founded along ethnic lines then what tends to happen is you have a more exclusionary model of membership.
