Youth, francophones, women, atheists more in favor on average. Elderly, anglophones, men, fundamentalists more opposed on average. You know who falls into what group, but now you must find an explanation for this. More than finding, sociology tries to explain them. Here we have an example of rates of protest activities and events during the civil rights era. When there was something monumental happening from 62-63 to 67, we can really see how the movement peaked around 65-66. We know that there were certain major changes to the legal system in the us around that time. A rare case of a successful social movement.
