Death penalty, abortion, same-sex marriage better indicator of liberalism/conservatism. Asking about solving social problems = even better indicator. Best indicator: ideological makeup of the society. State should be involved yes = liberal, no = conservative. The more support for left programs, state intervening in social problems.
