In southern france - 1994 just before christmas. The cave was so narrow that a person could barely fit through it. Didn"t find anything special at first but when they went deep inside they found that the cave was presteem and it was contained for thousands of years through the paintings dating. 32,000 years and the oldest paintings ever discovered - more than twice as old as others. Importance of cave was recognized the time it was found and was closed for anyone to go there but people doing studies like archaeologists, palaeontologists, etc were allowed. Referred to as a frozen flesh of a moment in time. Once they go in the door locks behind them so it doesn"t mess with the climate inside. Film crew was limited to a max of 4 and their timing in the cave is restricted. Can"t touch anything in the cave or step off the walkway.
