San lorenzo tenochtitlan: other sculptures; a mix of human head and feline bodies, usually jaguar. Could be early rulers or a version of hero twins: theyre often appearing in pairs, and thats why it could be the hero twins. They could have been great warriers and take over the military traditions, or great organizors and take over the infrastructure of the society. There is always some sort of mythical story around how they came to be. i. e. descendents from gods, divine right, etc. A lot of them are carved from the olmec heads. Suggestions are that heads are rulers as they are alive, and since the throne shows a person emerging from a cave, it could be in the mythology of the maya that it is where the person goes. Tres zapotes: large mounds, colossal heads, long count dare of 31 bc. We dont know what it means though: stelae c: long count introductory glyph and seven.
