Anthropology study of humankind in all times and places. Anthropologists come from many different societies and cultures. Significant to the development failure of the europeans to recognize that beneath all the differe(cid:374)(cid:272)es , the(cid:455) shared a (cid:271)asi(cid:272) (cid:862)hu(cid:373)a(cid:374)it(cid:455)(cid:863) (cid:449)ith people e(cid:448)er(cid:455)(cid:449)here. Travelling was key to meet other people and see other cultures. Savage cultural groups that did(cid:374)"t share the fu(cid:374)da(cid:373)e(cid:374)tal (cid:272)ultural (cid:448)alues of europea(cid:374)s. European colonialism when one nation dominates another through colonies, military presence, and control of resources, creating a dependency. Example: when the spanish, portuguese , english, french, and dutch set up colonies in other lands including africa and the americas, so dislocating the native populations living in these places. Cultural imperialism justified these actions, refers to the promotion of ones nations values, beliefs, and behaviors above those of all others. Introduced the concept of cultural progress all cultures passed through evolutionary stages until they reached the technologically advanced level of western societies.
