Anthro 1aa3: food sex and death- lecture 26: the iceman documentary. Ice man is naturally mummified and the first evidence of being able to preserve bodies through the use of ice. Density of his bones suggested he was 45-50 years old and the water he drank suggested he was found in the otzi mountain where he resided. Wounds found on iceman"s body suggests he died while struggling. These points give us the motives of the killer. Trying to understand why the ice man was killed shows us the values and norms of this society. Was he assassinated by rival in his own clan our of greed or revenge. The bow he was carrying was unfinished and his copper blade axe was a symbol of power. Many believe he was an elite member the copper axe shows he was well-recognized and his death must have had an impact.
