ARTSSCI 1B03 Lecture 4: 1B03 - Grammar - Lecture 4
Document Summary
Two basic aims: prove something to your reader have a worthwhile/interesting research question, that you have the ability to find an answer to it. Three tasks to accomplish: what you plan to investigate (your research question) Since the 1960s, many other african countries, including uganda and nigeria, have been able to construct effective state governments. However, despite numerous attempts, somalia has been unable to join their ranks. I plan to explore the causes of that failure, with a special focus upon the nature and effects of somalia"s unique colonial history. Checklist: has a clear question been established, does intro limit the scope or is it too vague, why it is important that you investigate it (your rationale) Don"t oversell the interests or benefits: how you are going to investigate it (your research plan) Explain to reader exactly what tasks are you going to engage in in order to answer the question.
