Black figure pottery- a particular ceramic pottery technique where artists outlines the silhouettes and details of the desired subject matter on red clay, which then appear after the firing process as black figures against a red background. Red figured pottery- a particular ceramic pottery technique where artists outline the background details around the subject matter, which then appears after the firing process as red figures against a black background. Corbel- an ancient roofing technique where layers of horizontal stines are gradually placed off center of the bottom layer until the top layers meet.
