This work of art was commissioned by Enrico Scrovegni, after whom the chapel is named. He was the
patron.
• Its been called Arena chapel because it was built on the side of ancient Roman arena
• Originally attached to “oegi’s sustatial hoe that as just outside the it alls of Padua
– house was destroyed in the early 19th century
