Where the lines are, can"t influence us. 1) massive objects can"t accelerate to higher than c, because mass becomes infinite. Not really -> there is a way to getting around discontinuity: supersonic jets that exceed the speed of sound. 3) real reason (most convincing reason) is causality: only things that happen in the past can influence things in the future. If you have faster than c travel, combined with special relativity, its possible to send yourself messages in the past. Paradoxes result when travelling back in time: you can avoid paradoxes if nothing can travel faster than the speed of light. Diagram: speed of light at 45degrees. Wavelength - how stretched out the wave is. You encounter more waves more quickly blueshift. Away from you, redder (blue or red dependent on frequency, which changes w/ distance). Neutrinos do not feel electrons -> only nuclei. Most space is taken up by electron cloud.
