On the earth, volcanoes can be active or dormant (but not extinct). Has to do with how long ago the last geological activity was. Mars has volcanoes that are dormant but not dead. Many similarities to jupiter, most of mass is gas. Many moons/satellites: could have more than jupiter, hard to know exactly how many it has has a system of rings, jupiter has a ring, but it"s very small and faint, kept in place with little moons. Rings are flattened, extend further along the pole than the equator. Can look at the moon, jupiter and saturn through a pair of binoculars can see jupiter"s largest moons. Jupiter is a morning object, has moved to the other side of the sun. Uranus and neptune both significantly larger than the terrestrial planets, but not as large as. Have larger central solid regions made up of rock and ice, heavy atmosphere above it.
