One of the problems with biodiversity is that it does not affect our lives daily and therefore we do not see at as important. The branch of science that seeks to understand and conserve biological diversity. Conservation biology = an integrated science the science of all combined science . Has more to do with management and policies than with actual research. We need to learn more because we are damaging the ecosystem if we have learnt enough, we would not be damaging the ecosystem. The three levels of biodiversity: genetic diversity: Is the variety and relative frequencies of different alleles in the gene pool of a species. The variety and relative abundance of different species. Why is it important: the intricate network of community interactions necessary to maintain a properly functioning ecosystem relies on species diversity. A high species diversity = many species.
