Class participation expectations: Students may work in pairs in the labs but the TA’s will grade the lab participatio n mark (questions on slides or dissections) and diagrams/images (2%) as an individual effort. This is explained in more detail on page 8 of this outline. In this course we will be using Avenue to Learn. Students should be aware that, when they access the electronic components of this course, private information such as first and last names, user names for the Mc Master e-mail accounts, and program affiliation may become apparent to all ot her students in the same course. Students must attend the lab section they have been assigned to. Any change in lab section mu st be arranged through SOLAR. In the event of university closure due to a storm, make-up labs will be attempted as soon as possible. Look for notices in the Life Scie nces Building for times and locations of make-up labs. The instructor and university reserve the right to modify el ements of the course during the term. The university may change the dates and deadlines for any or all courses in extreme circumstances. If either type of modification becomes necessary, reasonable notice and communication with the students will be give n with explanation and the opportunity to comment on ch anges.
