Homo erectus may be a different species from homo erg aster that lived in south east asia. 1) early hominins were probably complex foragers: practiced the collection, extraction and hunting of food. 2) probably used a wide range of approaches to collect, extract, and hunt for food: allowed theme to survive through seasons where food was scarce, some would specialize on extraction or hunting. 3) possibly hunted / and or scavenged. 4) this apporach to collecting food probably influenced society and behaviour. Can be a reason why we somewhat get along with each other. Brain size increased (but not as large as neanderthals) Body size increased (taller stature, ability to run long distances now) The order of hominin evolution (from oldest to youngest) Homo erectus > homo ergaster > homo heidelbergensis > denisova = homo neanderthal = homo florensis. Archaic hominins for which we have genetic data.
