Allometry scaling of organismal structure and funcion. Predict high amounts of variance between phylogenies of animals. Allometry: study of the relaionship between size and shape. Books shows that there is an associaion between human height and important physiological variables across the world. People that are taller generally have shorter lives (partly explain diference between men and women longevity) Advantages of longevity in places such as japan; mostly eat low protein, lots of ish, when relocaing to western world, japanese lose health beneits. Depends on many other external factors as well. Taller, you make more money and are more likely to marry (short people live longer, but they are lonely and poor) We have to grow to get from a single egg to a mature animal, so the enire genome and all regulatory systems are integrated and set up to maintain integraion and funcion across changes in size. Changing body size is an evoluionary already preadapted to change size.
