The three women share sufficient resemblance to allude to blood relation. Inscription itself provides their names- indicates that first four individuals were slaves who served in the furii family- the fifth previously owned by another family. This form of representation (i. e. non-nuclear groups in portraits) points to extended network of relationships that existed beyond slave marriages- Further proven when considering that terms of husband & wife were less preferred compared to terms like co-slave The stereotype of the freedmen- trimalchio (petronius" satyricon) 16 (cid:18853)and now i both thank you & congratulate you.
