Two themes: natural world, scenes from daily life. Idea that there in some type of procession. Themes from the sea are very popular in minoan pottery. Ox-hide shield (figure 8 shield) as decoration. Why is the ox-hide shield a problem. Had no military reasons but this is a military shield.
