Menelaus is shipwrecked, shows up on the shore of egypt. Helen is living in theoclymenus" house (king of egypt) She is standing by a fountain hoping she won"t be forced to marry the king. Menelaus comes in rags and thinks that might be his wife (even though he left her on watch by the save?) and helen thinks it might be menelaus. Creates a plan: helen tells menelaus to tell the king that her husband has died and they need to do a proper greek ritual (done at sea if they died at sea) Says they need to get (actual menalaus) to go and row out for lots of food and clothing. Menelaus and helen sail off and escape with the food and clothing.
