Its a relatively stable set of psychological characteristics. They in uence the way an individual interacts with his or her environment. Dimensions and traits that are determined by genetic predisposition and one"s long-term learning history. People have a variety or personality characteristics. Situations can be described as either weak or strong. In weak situations, roles are unde ned and rules are unclear. In strong situations, the roles, rules, and contingencies are more de ned. Personality has the strongest effect in weak situations. Traits lead to certain behaviours only when the situation calls for it. Personality in uxes behaviour when the situation requires a certain personality characteristic. Some personality characteristics = useful in organizational situations. Managers need to appreciate advantage of employee diversity. The importance of t - putting the right person in the right job, group, or organization.
