Distributed compuing old word for cloud computers connected to compuing each other. Collision a network collision occurs when two data packets collide. Server on a network, a server is a computer that distributes iles. The iles can be data iles or programs. A network is two or more connected computers that can communicate with each other. communicate could mean wired or wireless. Sharing peripherals is diicult- tough to share printer or scanner. With muliple copies of data, it is tricky to keep all of them updated. Allows sharing of devices share printers, scanners, speakers, game controller. Backups are easier eg: a network drive would be set up where either everyone shares it or they each have their own network drive. Data then can be stored on that drive and then backed up. If the network goes down, no access to anything that uses the network. If the server goes down, no one can access shared iles or programs.
