Document Summary

Quick clay is clay that was deposited under salt water, and is no longer under salt water. If they are under salt water , its all is well. If deposited under fresh water and lots of clay, its fine. Quick clay was under water when sea level was higher, and now they are not. Sea level was higher when they were deposited was because while the glaciers were on top of canada, they were pressing down on the entire content, because it was really big , it sank a bit. When quick clay comes out of the water, The land in pink used to be pushed down (from glacier on top of continent) and salt water swishing over it. And now because its coming back up, its exposed to rain water and fresh water. Lots of rain water, the ground water table rises, and that enough for quick clay to release and trigger them.
