A divide is a ridge of higher land that separates which way rivers flow. No stream or river will cross the divide, all streams flow into grand river into lake eerie within a specific divide/basin. Continental divide the continental divide is located along the spine of the rocky mountains highest peak / point of north america it separates which ocean the streams and rivers will eventually drain into. Bed load: materials that roll, slide, or bounce along the bottom (eg. sand, pebbles, larger particples pebbles and gravel, etc. Suspended load: silt and clay particles carried in the water smaller fine grains, it accounts for 90% of the total load of most rivers. Dissolved load: material derived from chemical weathering of rock and sediment within the drainage basin.
