Every work of literature projects an imaginative cosmology. Any work of literature will imply and project in ways that evokes an order of things. Its own meanings becomes intelligible in relation to that larger order. A work projects a cosmology and then it situates itself. Conceptions of the human experiment in relation to its origins, its environment, its place in the order of things. Our relationship to primary concern can be broken down into two general psychological categories of desire and anxiety. The world we believe we were intended for : utopias, heavens, etc.
