She had a disclaimer at the beginning of her book: * wrote a letter to a man in power when she was eleven. A lot of her poetry uses christ as a saviour/ christianity. Neoclassic writing style-> the subjects are on a pedestal. She was not allowed to speak her mind really. It was very much so controlled-> her poetry is not free or romantic.
