Greek drama: we know deeper meaning of oedipus" words because everyone in the background knows the background of the story, greek drama characteristics, violence is off stage, actors wear large masks. Very few actors on stage: sophocles= used 3 actors, a chorus. Effects: stillborn babies, mothers die in labor, no crops, livestock are dying, although oedipus is not a god they feel he is the 1st among men, your country calls you savior now - chorus.
