We are looking at books from the past 5 years and shows us the contemporary cultural issues and ideas that are happening now and that the general public were talking about. We take it for granted that technology has always been there but it hasn"t. The new tv mini series of handmaid"s tale-> it is from the past but it has been. News worthy-> captures our eye, can be for bad things too (ex. Only travelled three days away from the residential school and froze to death adapted to the present-> our world is not really that different-> past shows us the present. A lot of what we read is based by what is made available to us and by external factors. Categories of why books end up in our hands.
