To recognize the sphere that make up the environment, and their interactions with each other. To describe how the scientific method is applied to the study of the environment. To distinguish the types of uncertainties associated with environmental science. The environment is the natural world w/o human society. Environment is no affected by the activities of humans. I. e. humans exist within the environment + our actions have implications. Made up of interconnected systems including: the atmosphere, the hydrosphere, the lithosphere and the biosphere. Can be seen from space [thin blue region along the edge of earth] Made up of a mixture of gas molecules, small solid/liquid suspended particles + falling precipitation. Includes the gaseous part of earth from its surface to the exosphere [atmosphere merges with space] Hydrosphere liquid realm contains fresh, salt, snow and ice frozen part is sometimes called the cryosphere.
