Density of fluid- affects ability to transport sediment- air less effective than water. Fluid viscosity- ability for a fluid to flow e. g. air has low viscosity- ice higher. As fluid moves across its bed, a shear stress opposes the motion of the fluid- called. Function of: density of fluid, sloe of bed, water depth. Increase the density of fluid or depth and width or channel or gradient- increase.
