Globally, population is understood with reference to two factors: fertibility (birthday) and. Three things that are influencing and giving flux to our world: fertility, mortality, migration. True fertility: need to account for: the number of women in the population, and, the number of women of child-bearing age (i. e. 15-49) Pf-15-49= population of females between the ages of 15-49: average number of children a woman will have, replacement rate- 2. 1 births to 2. 5 births per women. Some people are unable to have children and to account for the death rate and some babies do not make it to reproductive ages- accidents, sickness, drowning etc. It takes how many lives are born with different 5-year age spans and calculates the average amount in that period. This allows us to make projections on the average women. The average women will have 2. 6 children born to the average women in her life time.
