World"s ocean can supply an infinite supply of food but is no longer the case: species of fish that have disappeared and tuna has been impacted. Forests are being taken down and are disappearing. Atmosphere has changed drastically in terms of composition climate change, greenhouse gasses. We need more resources since we have so many people on earth need more food, transportation, etc. Less developed countries predicted to grow by 33% between 2005 and 2050. Global energy consumption increased 12-fold between 1850 and 1970. Canada is fairly high on the graph -> we use the most energy. Wealthiest countries consume 25 times more energy/capita than poorest countries. A lot of energy production in north america is for companies provided by the government.
