Temporary and contract work: hire foreign/immigrant workers, avoid unionization, reduce wages (cheap labour, mechanization (cid:894)te(cid:272)h(cid:374)ologi(cid:272)al (cid:454)(cid:895) Technological fix: technology is used to make production more cost efficient: creates a reserve army of labour. Pro t, i(cid:374) part, is (cid:271)ased o(cid:374) (cid:272)heap la(cid:271)our. Global division of labour = companies in the developed world take advantage of cheap labour in the developing world. The global division of labour is a functio(cid:374) of (cid:272)apitalis(cid:373)(cid:859)s dri(cid:448)e for profit i(cid:374) a (cid:272)apitalist economy by reducing costs. Workers produce more for the capitalists than they earn for themselves, not making enough money to pro(cid:448)ide su cient demand for all the goods they produced for the capitalists.
