Where is love canal: a neighbourhood located in niagara falls, ny, redeveloped as a suburban area, it was built on: former hazardous (toxic) chemicals deposal sites, no formal planning on designing this site as a (cid:494)proper disposal site(cid:495) Ny (cid:883)(cid:891)(cid:890)(cid:885) garbage bins filling, dealing w/ trash all the time: living in the cities meant living with other people, animals, etc. and that ultimately, more people = more trash garbage, etc. meant living in trash wastes. Slide 6: cities as they grew, were filled with trash, people wanted solid wastes to vanish at all cost. Slide 7: 1895, ny: kids playing beside a dead horse, tons of illnesses spread around and led to diseases, gradually led to waste disposals. Slide 8: 1895, ny: garbage collectors, taking the garbage as far as possible from the cities, later on digging a pit and burying garbage wasn(cid:495)t enough.
