Hist 1A03 Oct 11 2012 Diet (council) of Worms (town) Charles V called because of fear from the ottomans Competition over controle of meditteranian King wanted to have a council to raise taxation to raise an army against the ottomans Also used it to attack Luther because he thought Luther's ideas were dangerous Was deviding society Luther thought that only those who God bestoed his grace apon could properly read the bible. Charles V enacted a law that said: If you are a heritic, you are a trator to the king 1521: Luther told by Emperor that he is a hertic, and must change. Wisked away by Duke of Saxonie's men right before we would be excecuted Luther is now in hiding and is excommunicated Now luther rializes that the church is too corrupted to be saved Really looked down on the pope.
