King has had enough and flees france in 1791. This is not good, the king has shown he is trying to avoid the revolution, unwilling to negotiate. Many nobles have immigrated outside of france. The new legislative assembly: during the french revolution, the legislative assembly was the legislature of france from 1 october 1791 to september 1792. It provided the focus of political debate and revolutionary law-making between the periods of the national constituent assembly and of the national convention. It is also remembered as the place where the peasants revolted against the revolutionary government in 1793. They resented the changes imposed on the roman catholic church by the civil constitution of the clergy(1790) and broke into open revolt in defiance of the revolutionary government"s military conscription. A guerrilla war, known as the revolt in the vend e, led at the outset by an underground faction called the chouans(tawny owls), cost more than 100,000 lives before it ended in 1796.
