8: six year study, 300 participants, four treatments in six weeks, pre and post comparison of physical and psychological functioning. Roger"s nursing conceptual model (touch therapy: my energy field is interacting with another person"s energy field, nurse/patient in each others energy field - the energy fields are overlapping. Nurses purpose is to engage and deal with patients in such a way that her positive energy as a healer flows freely to the patient. The idea behind why the other person is ill - their energy has been blocked. The therapy nurse uses her hands to reach the imbalance and put it back into balance: ex: mothers who are on drugs while pregnant. The child is born with a dependency on the drugs. The baby then goes into withdrawal (irritated, crying, uncomfortable) Baby given their own nurse - nurse holds baby 24/7 (hugged, kissed etc)
