Increase in the number of older persons. Notion of dying with old age does not change. Look to see if accurate knowledge of aging is obtained. What could be done to improve aging. Social, political, cultural context in which people live. Argue that it"s not just aging but how aging actually takes place in a society that does not value people. Many people attribute their long life to different things (exercise, less stress, eating well, proper medical care) Women get sicker while men just die. There are some visual changes with aging. Sun, smoking, and genetics speed up wrinkling. With hair growth there is a change due to hormonal changes. With aging, facial structure changes or height changes has to do with the change in what is holding it in that specific position rather than just what comes with old age (spinal cord reconstruction) Older people are more sensitive to temperature.
