Dr. weretilnyk does research in abiotic stress tolerance in plants, especially drought, salinity and assimilation of nutrients. She uses genomics, biochemistry, and physiology in extremophile plant eutrema salsugineum. Plant physiology is study of plant processes and how they function in response to biotic and abiotic environment. Levels of study range from molecules to whole plant to responses at ecosystem level. Canopy haves many leaves, berries hang in clusters below. Dormant buds formed in previous growing season, composed of one primary and. 2 secondary growing points (inner buds) and covered by bud scales. Spur previous season"s lifnified shoot that has been pruned to contain one to 2 dormant buds. Cordon main branch retained from season to season in many types of pruning. Scion variety of vitis spp. (vitis vinifera in this website) grafted onto a rootstock; may be budded onto a rootstock as well. Rootstock variety of vitis to which a scion is grafted or budded.
