Document Summary

Renal pyramid - part of medulla o o o o o o. Proximal convoluted tubule - leaving from the renal corpuscle. Loop of henle - as it comes down from the pct it goes back up. Distal convoluted tubule - number of those connect to 1 collecting duct. Each collecting duct has numerous dct"s draining into it - collecting duct drain into capillary duct. Renal tubules - goes deep into the renal pyramid o o. Proximal tubule is where the blood is being filtered. Blood comes in from the afferent arteriole into the glomerular capillary (glomerulis) and out of the efferent arteriole. Get the ef away - efferent arteriole goes away from the kidney. Parietal layer and visceral layer - make the bowman"s capsule. Bowman"s capsule and glomerular capillary - make renal corpuscle: podocytes - octopus like cells. Smooth muscle cells that form a cuff around the arteriole: when constricted - they shrink diameter, when contracted - they increase diameter.
