Critical appraisal is the process of carefully and systematically examining research to judge its trustworthiness and its value and relevance in a particular context. Limitation with current social cognitive theories is that they don"t consider. Habits you are automatically activated based on a behavioural response: doesn"t take much thinking to do to a cue. Physical activity interventions can be more effective if we are targeting these implicit regulatory processes. Problem: still lack a great understanding of causal pathways. It"s an important step to understand how this is regulating activity and summarize relevant evidence. Purpose was to put all the studies together to make sense of the evidence in totality.
