An introduction to the anatomy and physiology of embryonic development, the nervous system, including special senses and the autonomic nervous system, as well as on overview of the musculoskeletal system, including bone, joint, and muscle physiology. Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to: Identify and describe the general characteristics, function, location and types of tissues found in the body: describe the organization and physiology of the nervous system and the components of nervous tissue. Identify the location, organization and function of key structures in the central and peripheral nervous systems: describe the physiology of nervous tissue and the conduction of action potentials. Upon completion of this course, the student will demonstrate competencies in: Personal organization and time management in order to multi-task, set priorities, and allocate time effectively to meet deadlines such as tests, prelab quizzes, exams, and lecture/lab attendance.
