KINESIOL 1Y03 Lecture Notes - Lecture 32: Teres Minor Muscle, Calcaneus, Subscapularis Muscle
Document Summary
Pec major on anterior side, made of large and smaller muscle (stabilizes scapula) Fibers gather and wrap over front of humerus. Medial rotation: flex forearm > rotate humerus. Extension (if arm already flexed to bring it back to neutral at coronal) Gathers and goes under axillary region and insert on front of humerus. Extension of arm and cause medial rotation bc goes under armpit and inserts on front side. Muscle fibers all around shoulder and inserts down on humerus. Form a cuff/cap over proximal end of humerus. Subscapularis on anterior side and originates on subscapular fossa (front of scapula). Inserts on front of humerus > contraction causes medial rotation. Teres minor: wraps around scapula and inserts on lateral side of the back side > lateral rotation of humerus. Adduction too bc it pulls downwards on humerus (it is lower) Forearm movement: extension, flexion, supination, pronation: extension: 3 heads/origins, but one insertion (end of elbow).
